Compare month-over-month trends to spot spending patterns

Ledger View collects expense claims into a monthly ledger. Date, category, amount and status stack up one row at a time, with that month's total alongside. Ordinary members see their own; administrators see the whole organization.

What this app does

  • Pick a month and its expense claims are listed in date order.
  • Each claim's amount appears next to the running total for the month.
  • Processing status is shown so claims that haven't finished are easy to pick out.
  • Sort by name or category to find a particular claim quickly.
  • Step backwards and forwards through months, reading each one in the same layout.
  • Counts and amounts appear together, separating a month with one large claim from a month of many small ones.

How it connects in the all-in-one

The same ledger Expense Insight reads

This screen lists; Expense Insight compares. Both work from the same expense claims, so a total you read here matches the total you read there.

The permission rule holds on the server

Ordinary members see only their own claims and administrators see the whole organization. The filtering isn't done in the screen — the server decides, so typing the address directly still won't show you someone else's spending.

Anomaly Watch scans what accumulates here

The same claims that pile up in this ledger are swept by Anomaly Watch on a 30-day basis, raising single-claim spikes and spikes in an individual's total as candidates.

When to use it

  • At month end, check what this month's expenses came to on a single page.
  • Check for yourself how far along your own submitted claim has got.
  • Pull a specific month's spending straight out as audit material.

Frequently asked questions

Do I only see what I submitted?

Ordinary members see their own claims. With administrator rights the whole organization is visible. The decision is made on the server.

How does it relate to Expense Insight?

They use the same expense claim data. Ledger View lists it by month, and Expense Insight splits it by department and category to compare.

Do I write expense claims here?

Writing and approval happen in expense claims themselves; this screen gathers the results into a monthly ledger.

Can I see previous months?

You can step backwards and forwards through months. Every month opens in the same layout, which makes comparison straightforward.
