One shared board keeps cross-department work visible

Task Board stands your team's work up in three stages — to do, in progress, done — and you move items along them. Each card carries an assignee, a department, and a due date, with the days remaining shown as the date closes in. Filter by person or team to see immediately who is holding what.

What this app does

  • The three stages sit side by side with a live count in each header. Where the work has piled up is clear from the columns alone.
  • Buttons on the card move it a stage forward or back. Sending something back to the previous stage works the same way.
  • Cards with a due date show the days left, and anything due today or already past is marked to stand out.
  • Cards in the done stage are dimmed, so finished work doesn't crowd out the view of what is still moving.
  • The input row at the top takes a title, assignee, department, and due date on one line and files the card straight away.
  • Filters for assignee and for department narrow the board down to one person's or one team's work.
  • A card left without a due date is labelled as having none. Nothing has to be given an invented date just to be tracked.

How it connects in the all-in-one

Assignees and departments come from your people records

Rather than typing names, you pick from the active employees and departments registered in HR. Spelling variants can't split one person's work in two, and leavers drop out of the assignee list.

Approaching deadlines surface on their own

Each card works out its own days remaining, so finding what is about to be due means no re-sorting a list and no cross-checking a calendar.

When to use it

  • Put the board up in the weekly meeting, walk the stages, and unblock what is stuck together.
  • When a new request comes in, set an owner and a due date on the spot and drop it into to-do.
  • Filter to one team to check whether work has bunched up on one side, and redistribute it.
  • At quarter end, run through the done stage to write up what actually got finished.

Frequently asked questions

Do I drag cards between the columns?

You move stages with the buttons on the card, forward or back. Drag and drop isn't supported, and the same buttons work on a narrow screen.

Can I add more stages?

The three stages — to do, in progress, done — are fixed. Instead of adding columns, you narrow the view with the assignee and department filters.

How does an overdue task look?

The card is marked as past due. Due today and due in a few days are each marked differently again, so urgency reads straight off the board.

Do completed tasks disappear?

No — they stay in the done stage, dimmed. You can still see what was finished while your attention goes to what is still moving.
